Deerpath Capital is a leading direct lending firm specializing in providing first lien, senior debt financing to middle market companies. Deerpath is focused on providing debt capital for acquisitions, refinancings, ownership transitions and growth capital to companies in the U.S. lower middle market. Deerpath has investment offices in New York, Boston, Chicago, Los Angeles and Fort Lauderdale, as well as overseas investor relations offices in London, Seoul, Tokyo and Brisbane. Position Overview

As part of a growing firm in the asset management industry, the candidate will have a diverse set of responsibilities. Candidate must be able to work independently to provide timely updates on borrowers’ financial performance, aid in the underwriting of new credit exposure related to borrower’s M&A activity and manage ongoing portfolio monitoring including amendments and quarterly valuation reports of portfolio companies.

Primary Responsibilities

• Provide ongoing monitoring of investments to identify changes in company performance, industry conditions, and conduct meetings with management teams.
• Prepare and present updated financial models and analyses, operating assessments, valuation guidance, industry overviews, market information and report findings to firm’s investment committee.
• Well versed in amendment negotiations and structuring.

Desired Skills &Experience

• Bachelor’s degree required, a concentration in finance or economics preferred.
• 4-6 years of relevant work experience in buyside transaction advisory, corporate banking, leveraged finance or at a similar Lender. Candidates without strong credit underwriting or private credit will NOT be considered.
• Strong knowledge & understanding of credit analysis, financial accounting/modeling, complex capital structures, financial covenant packages and loan portfolio management and valuation.
• Considerable deal execution experience.
• Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
• Willingness to travel.
• Restructuring experience is a plus.
